European shares fell in early trading on Monday, dragged by sharp declines in travel .SXTP and tech .SX8P, though gains in energy .SXEP on rising crude prices helped limit the fall.
The broader STOXX 600 .STOXX index was down 0.3%, faring better than initial indications from European futures, while London's commodity-heavy FTSE 100 .FTSE eased 0.1%.
UK home builders .FTNMX402020 also bucked the weaker trend, up over 3% on hopes likely incoming prime minister Andy Burnham could revive a scheme to help first-time home buyers.
