Agreement to advance ReFirm SMR program
Studsvik entered an exclusive agreement with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy, DS Investment Partners, Samsung C&T to advance Sweden’s ReFirm SMR program.
Development targets a four-unit BWRX-300 project totaling about 1,200 MW at either Nyköping or Valdemarsvik; site choice pending.
Planned joint project company and workstreams
The parties plan to form a joint project company for development, financing, construction, ownership and operation; terms are to be set in definitive agreements.
Work starts immediately on commercial, technical, regulatory and financing tracks; the agreement is not a final investment decision or construction authorization.
