Summit Therapeutics teams with ECOG-ACRIN on phase II/III ivonescimab trial in biliary tract cancer
SMMT•Summit Therapeutics partnered with ECOG-ACRIN on a phase II/III trial of ivonescimab for first-line advanced biliary tract cancer. US site activations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
1. Trial design
The registration-enabling EA2251 trial will compare ivonescimab with pembrolizumab or durvalumab, each combined with chemotherapy. Overall survival is the primary endpoint, and US clinical trial site activations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
2. Earlier trial results
Akeso’s China-based phase III HARMONi-GI1 trial previously showed ivonescimab with chemotherapy improved survival over durvalumab with chemotherapy in biliary tract cancer. Detailed results are scheduled for presentation October 25 at the European Society for Medical Oncology 2026 Congress.
