2. Rules follow Credit Suisse collapse
Switzerland is developing new banking rules after Credit Suisse’s 2023 collapse and takeover by UBS. SNB Chairman Martin Schlegel said the proposed measures address regulatory weaknesses identified during the crisis and that the SNB has faith in the government and parliament to reach decisions in Switzerland’s interest.
