SYY•Sysco has expanded its U.S. host city operations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, boosting inventory by 5% with 3 million extra pounds of fries, 500 000 pounds of chicken tenders and 255 000 pounds of ground beef. The company added 80 trucks and hired dozens of new staff.

Sysco’s task force collaborated with local officials across 11 host cities, spending months on hiring dozens of warehouse selectors and delivery partners, and planning security and logistics to support feeding nearly 5 million World Cup visitors.

The company increased inventory in host cities by roughly 5%, adding 3 million extra pounds of French fries, 500,000 pounds of frozen chicken tenders, 255,000 pounds of ground beef, and 10% more bottled water, alongside deploying 80 additional trucks and trailers.

Sysco’s sales teams helped restaurant clients design specialized menus and integrate cultural technologies for international guests, offering themed items like soccer ball-shaped ice cubes to enhance visitor experience and drive incremental foodservice sales.
