TE•T1 Energy received a Commerce Department waiver on Oct. 22, 2026, allowing it to import up to 1,725 MW of solar cells. The imports will support production at its G1_Dallas facility while the 2,100 MW first phase of G2_Austin is under construction.
The waiver provides temporary relief under an August Section 232 proclamation targeting dumping and price manipulation of imported polysilicon and derived solar products. T1 Energy said the imports will support uninterrupted production at its G1_Dallas module facility while construction continues on the 2,100 MW first phase of G2_Austin. First solar cell production at G2_Austin is expected in the first quarter of 2027.
