T1 Energy Secures 50MW Allocation for Mo i Rana Data Center by Q2 2027

TETE

T1 Energy secured a 50MW grid allocation from Statnett for its 926,000-square-foot Mo i Rana facility, enabling phase-one data center development by Q2 2027 under a power reservation running through 2033. The company remains in queue for an additional 396MW and is awaiting a 60MW allocation dispute decision.

1. Grid Allocation Secured

Norway’s grid operator Statnett has assigned 50MW of power to T1 Energy’s 926,000-square-foot Mo i Rana industrial building, marking the first phase of its planned data center conversion. This allocation is reserved through December 2033 and represents N-0 power requiring uninterruptible power supply and step-down transformers.

2. Infrastructure and Development Timeline

T1 plans to install necessary interconnection infrastructure to support anticipated data center loads as early as Q2 2027. Pareto Securities has been engaged to maximize shareholder value and accelerate discussions with AI cloud operators, hyperscalers, and financial investors interested in scalable European AI infrastructure.

3. Future Capacity and Strategic Positioning

The company remains in the interconnection queue for 396MW and awaits a decision on a 60MW allocation dispute with the Norwegian Energy Complaints Board. T1 aims to leverage the region’s near-100% hydroelectric power, low electricity costs, and cold-climate cooling to position Mo i Rana as a competitive node for global AI compute demand.
