T1 Energy’s 5 GW G1_Dallas Plant Secures “A” Bankability Grade
TE•T1 Energy’s 5 GW G1_Dallas solar module facility received an “A” grade in Intertek CEA’s April audit, benchmarking its efficiency, durability and process controls on par with Tier 1 peers. The bankability rating clears the way for T1 to supply branded modules and underscores its U.S. solar expansion ahead of its 2.1 GW G2_Austin cell fab startup in Q4 2026.
1. A Grade Achievement
T1 Energy’s G1_Dallas facility achieved an A grade in a bankability assessment by Intertek CEA, placing it among the top-rated solar module manufacturers globally. This designation requires consistently high standards across production quality, process discipline and operational reliability.
2. Audit Details and Benchmarks
The audit, conducted on April 23–24, evaluated production capability, process control and quality management practices. A peer benchmark review confirmed that G1_Dallas modules match Tier 1 competitors on efficiency, temperature coefficients, mechanical dimensions and long-term durability.
3. Implications for Module Supply
Earning the A grade satisfies a key prerequisite for T1 to offer branded and warranteed solar modules to customers, enhancing its credibility in project bids and potential revenue streams. This independent validation supports T1’s strategy to expand its U.S. solar manufacturing footprint.
4. Future G2_Austin Cell Fab
T1’s G2_Austin solar cell fab in Rockdale, Texas, is under construction and will add 2.1 GW of annual capacity, with cell production slated to begin in Q4 2026. This in-house cell production will diversify suppliers and further mitigate import risks.
