Taiwan central bank leaves benchmark rate unchanged at 2%, as expected
TLT•Central bank keeps policy rate on hold
TAIPEI, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Taiwan's central bank kept its benchmark interest rate on hold on Thursday, as expected, given the strong performance of the tech-focused economy and relatively mild inflation.
The central bank's decision to leave the benchmark discount rate TWINTR=ECI at 2% aligned with forecasts in a Reuters poll, where 28 of 31 economists projected no change in monetary policy.
