PTI plans $400 million investment in Broadcom packaging venture

Taiwanese chip packaging company Powertech Technology Inc (PTI) 6239.TW plans to invest $400 million in an advanced packaging joint venture with Broadcom AVGO.O in Singapore, it said in a stock exchange filing late on Thursday.

The venture will help PTI to expand globally and be closer to its customers' supply chains, the company said without providing further detail.
The transaction timetable and final terms and conditions are subject to regulatory approval, PTI added.
