China approves ORZEYFUL for narcolepsy type 1

Takeda says China’s NMPA has cleared ORZEYFUL (oveporexton) to treat narcolepsy type 1 in patients aged 16 and older.

The company said the drug is the first oral OX2R-selective orexin agonist approved in China, positioning it as a new mechanism-based option for NT1.

Takeda added that its US filing is under priority review with Breakthrough Therapy designation, while review in Japan is ongoing with Sakigake designation.
