1. Phase 3 trial results
In previously treated patients with advanced CLDN18.2-positive gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer, arcotatug tavatecan met survival endpoints in the G-HOPE-001 trial. At the September 3, 2026, cutoff, median overall survival was 10.2 months versus 6.9 months with physician-selected treatment (P<0.0001); median progression-free survival was 7.1 months versus 3.1 months.
2. Safety and next steps
Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events occurred in 47.4% of patients receiving arcotatug tavatecan and 55.9% receiving physician-selected treatment; one treatment-related death occurred with arcotatug tavatecan. Takeda said the results will support a planned Japanese regulatory filing, and global Phase 3 trials in gastric and pancreatic cancer are planned.
