Tapestry 15-Year REC Deal Powers 13.475 MWac Illinois Solar Projects

TPRTPR

Pivot Energy completed three community solar projects in Illinois totaling 13.475 MWac under a 15-year renewable energy credit purchase agreement with Tapestry, expected to generate over 23,000 MWh annually and power about 2,500 households. These installations support Tapestry’s goal of 100% renewable electricity in its global operations and help meet its science-based climate targets.

1. Major Stake Reduction by Allspring Global Investments

In the third quarter, Allspring Global Investments Holdings LLC slashed its position in Tapestry, Inc. by 85.5%, offloading 79,375 shares and retaining just 13,475. According to the company’s latest Form 13F filing with the SEC, this reduction left Allspring’s remaining stake valued at approximately $1.53 million. This move marks one of the most significant single-quarter divestments by an institutional investor in Tapestry’s shares over the past two years, and it reduces Allspring’s influence on vote-sensitive matters, such as board appointments and shareholder proposals. Investors will be watching to see whether other major holders follow suit or increase exposure in response to this sizable sell-down.

2. Illinois Community Solar Partnership Advances Tapestry’s Sustainability Goals

Tapestry has partnered with Pivot Energy to support three completed community solar installations in Peoria, Dover and Ottawa, Illinois, delivering a combined 13.475 megawatts of clean generation. Under a 15-year agreement, Tapestry purchases the projects’ renewable energy credits, which are expected to yield over 23,000 megawatt-hours of renewable electricity annually—enough to power roughly 2,500 homes. This initiative builds on Tapestry’s achievement of 100% renewable electricity across its global operations and directly supports the company’s science-based climate targets. Additionally, the program includes more than $115,000 in community investments, with $65,000 already funding workforce training at Illinois Central College and HIRE360 to foster local solar industry careers.
