TC Energy CEO François Poirier backed Canada’s proposed Building Canada Strong Act, calling it a shift from “debate to delivery.”
He said the bill would streamline regulatory reviews by distinguishing major projects from others while maintaining environmental and Indigenous engagement standards.
Poirier said the changes would cut duplication and delay while keeping regulatory rigor, citing the Canada Energy Regulator as “best-in-class.”
He said the reforms would support investment by enabling energy infrastructure needed for reliability, economic growth, and capital competitiveness.
