TC Energy says Coastal GasLink Phase 2 proceeds after LNG Canada expansion FID
TRP•TC Energy will proceed with Coastal GasLink Phase 2 after LNG Canada made a positive final investment decision on its expansion. The project targets nearly doubling the pipeline’s 2.1 Bcf/d capacity, with construction expected to start in early 2027 and service targeted for the early 2030s.
1. Project timeline and scope
Phase 2 would add compressor stations and upgrade facilities along Coastal GasLink’s existing 670-kilometer route from Dawson Creek to the LNG Canada facility in Kitimat, British Columbia. LNG Canada will manage execution, while Coastal GasLink remains the owner, operator and permit holder.
