Teck Resources Backs 65 km IP/MT Survey and 450-Sample Campaign at Corral
Intrepid Metals has kicked off a 2026 Phase 1 exploration program at its Corral Copper Property in Cochise County, Arizona, deploying 65 line-kilometres of IP and MT surveys and collecting over 450 rock samples to refine porphyry copper-gold and CRD targets with input from Teck Resources. The program’s integration of new geophysical and geochemical datasets with prior 2024–2025 data aims to optimize drill targets for a substantial Q3/Q4 2026 Phase 2 diamond drilling campaign.
1. Phase 1 Exploration Program
Intrepid Metals, with technical input from Teck Resources, has launched its 2026 Phase 1 exploration program at the Corral Copper Property. The campaign includes detailed geological mapping, a 65 line-kilometre induced polarization (IP) and magnetotelluric (MT) survey suite, and over 450 grid rock samples to characterize subsurface sulphide distribution, alteration zonation, and fault geometries for porphyry and CRD mineralization.
2. Outlook for Phase 2 Drilling
Data from the Phase 1 geophysical and geochemical work will be integrated with 2024–2025 exploration results to refine and prioritize drill targets between 300 and 1,000 metres below surface. The company plans a substantial Phase 2 diamond drilling program in Q3/Q4 2026, combining deeper holes targeting porphyry zones with shallower drills aimed at expanding high-grade CRD mineralization identified in previous campaigns.
