U.S.-listed shares of copper miner Teck Resources rose 6% to $60.68 in premarket trading after the company beat Wall Street expectations for second-quarter profit on higher copper prices and production.
Teck reported adjusted profit of C$1.93 per share versus estimates of C$1.25 per share, according to LSEG data.
The company said realized copper prices came in at $6.05 per pound in the quarter, up from $4.32 per pound a year earlier, and reported a 24.6% jump in quarterly copper production.
As of the last close, the stock was up 19.3%.
