Telecom Italia acquired a 70% stake in VoiSmart, an Italian developer of proprietary communications and artificial intelligence technologies. Put and call options allow TIM to acquire the remaining stake by 2030. Biagio Passaro becomes VoiSmart’s CEO and retains a minority stake alongside other existing shareholders.
2. Technology strategy
The acquisition expands TIM Enterprise’s control over communications platforms, reducing reliance on third-party technologies and strengthening customers’ digital sovereignty. Telecom Italia said integrating VoiSmart’s expertise will accelerate the development of cloud and AI solutions.
