Telefónica won a Diputación de Guadalajara framework contract to deploy Spain’s first integrated smart rural video-surveillance network.
The project calls for 350 interconnected surveillance sites across the province, using a central multi-vendor platform.
Each site will use two cameras, including a license-plate OCR unit, connected via Telefónica’s public 4G and 5G network.
Data storage will be managed in Telefónica’s cloud environment at TecnoAlcalá, with access for the Guardia Civil.
Telefónica said the system is scalable, with potential use of 5G network slicing during peak-demand events.
