Telesat Government Solutions signs optical connectivity collaboration with Cailabs US

Telesat Government Solutions, a Telesat unit, signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Cailabs US on secure optical space-to-ground connectivity.

• The deal targets U.S. Government and allied missions.
• Work includes joint studies, demonstrations and space data relay opportunities.
• The integration focus is Telesat Lightspeed optical inter-satellite links with Cailabs production-ready optical ground systems, deployment capability and ground-network expertise.
• Lightspeed architecture includes a space-based mesh supported by 900 optical inter-satellite link terminals to route traffic in orbit.
• Cailabs targets production capacity of up to 50 optical ground stations per year to support scaled deployments.
