Telesat says it is ready to execute its FCC Upper C-band transition plan following the regulator’s order to repurpose 160 MHz for U.S. wireless use.
Telesat GEO is eligible for USD 189 million in incentive payments, contingent on meeting FCC transition deadlines.
The order also provides for reimbursement of reasonable and necessary transition costs, subject to clearinghouse approval.
FCC rules require satellite operators to file transition plans by Nov. 5, 2026.
