American Water unit Tennessee American Water will start service line material verification in parts of its Citico Service District on Sept. 28.
Work in the Chattanooga area is intended to build a baseline inventory for lead and copper compliance, supporting a requirement to replace lead lines by 2037.
The project targets service lines listed as unknown in company records. Crews will dig small test holes near meter pits to visually confirm materials.
