Tercera flags $200 billion agentic AI services market as software implementation work commoditizes
QQQ•Tercera’s analysis flagged declining pricing power for basic software implementations and cited a McKinsey estimate of nearly $200 billion in enterprise digital-services spending tied to agentic AI.
1. Services market shifts
Tercera’s analysis said low-code SaaS platforms, AI coding and automated deployment are reducing differentiation in basic software implementation work. It said demand is shifting toward coordinating data, systems, agents and governance to deliver business outcomes.
2. Integration and spending
The analysis cited an average of 957 applications per enterprise, with 27% connected, and said IT teams spend 36% of their time on custom integrations. It cited a McKinsey estimate of nearly $200 billion in new enterprise digital-services spending tied to agentic AI, including orchestration, security and governance.
3. Work expands
The analysis said services work is expected to extend into process redesign, architecture, exception handling and monitoring, creating longer-duration, higher-value engagements for services firms.
