The selection followed a competitive U.S. Army request for proposals under its Strategic Capital Initiatives program.
The project builds on a June 2025 memorandum of understanding between Ameresco and Terrestrial Energy to pursue U.S. sites.
Terrestrial Energy and Ameresco selected for Aberdeen Proving Ground power project
Terrestrial Energy will supply its IMSR advanced nuclear reactor technology for Ameresco’s power project at the U.S. Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The phased project combines natural gas generation with advanced nuclear capacity to sell power into the regional market, bolstering site resiliency.
