1. Project Launch

Engineering firm UGL has kicked off construction at Neoen’s Muchea Battery facility near Perth, deploying Tesla Megapack batteries in a six-hour long-duration storage system under Tesla’s EPC-led delivery model.

2. Technical Specifications

The facility will feature 164MW/905MWh capacity connected to Western Power’s network via the Muchea substation, with early works covering a 1.3km road upgrade and laydown area to support subsequent civil, electrical and battery installation phases.

3. Tesla Energy Implications

This installation represents Tesla’s entry into Western Australia’s long-duration storage market and adds to its global Megapack backlog, potentially boosting the company’s energy segment revenue and showcasing its grid-scale integration capabilities.
