Tesla Extends Free FSD Transfer for Orders Placed by March 31, 2026

Tesla will allow customers to transfer their purchased Full Self-Driving feature to a new vehicle for orders placed by March 31, 2026, provided both vehicles are under the same account and free of liens or pending cancellations. The program excludes leased, commercial or pre-owned orders and cannot be applied retroactively.

1. Policy Update and Deadline

Tesla announced a limited-time Full Self-Driving transfer program for customers who place a new vehicle order by March 31, 2026. Under this offer, the FSD feature can be moved from an existing to a new Tesla model.

2. Eligibility and Exclusions

To participate, the original FSD purchaser must hold legal ownership and have both vehicles under a single Tesla account. Leased, commercial, pre-owned orders and vehicles with pending cancellations, buyback requests or outstanding liens are not eligible.

3. FSD Subscriber Context

During its fourth-quarter earnings call, Tesla reported 1.1 million active FSD subscriptions globally and indicated potential price increases as the technology advances.
