Tesla Fifth in Robotaxi Rankings, Negotiates Samsung Chip Production Deal

Samsung is in talks with Tesla on future chip production to offset Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing’s leading-edge capacity constraints, potentially boosting Tesla’s supply pipeline.
1. Robotaxi Index Rankings
Tesla ranks fifth in a new road to autonomy robotaxi index, trailing Waymo and three Chinese competitors — Baidu’s Apollo Go, Pony.ai and WeRide — which occupy three of the top five spots. The index awards 70% of its score to fully autonomous revenue operations, scale and technology readiness.
2. Samsung Chip Production Talks
Samsung is negotiating future chip production with Tesla to offset Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing’s constrained capacity for advanced nodes. A new supply agreement could secure additional semiconductors for Tesla’s upcoming vehicle launches and support its global production targets.
