Tesla March Registrations Up 203% in France with Nordic Registrations Doubling

TSLATSLA

Tesla new car registrations in France jumped 203% year-on-year to 9,569 vehicles in March, just below the two-year record high. Registrations also rose 178% in Norway, 144% in Sweden and 96% in Denmark, marking a strong regional recovery following late-2025 price cuts.

1. French Registrations Soar

In March, Tesla recorded 9,569 new car registrations in France, representing a 203% increase year-on-year and falling only three units short of the two-year high of 9,572 set in December 2023. This marks the first monthly sales growth in France since October.

2. Nordic Market Growth

Registrations in key Nordic markets more than doubled, with Norway up 178%, Sweden rising 144% and Denmark climbing 96% year-on-year. These gains underscore a broad-based recovery across Europe following a period of declining demand.

3. Drivers of Rebound

The turnaround follows the late-2025 introduction of lower-priced variants of existing models, which improved affordability and stimulated demand. Previously, worsening competition, limited new model offerings and negative publicity had eroded Tesla’s European market share by nearly half in 2025.

4. Outlook and Market Share Implications

With registrations growth already evident in February, Tesla appears to be reversing its European sales decline. Sustained momentum in these markets could bolster quarterly revenues and underpin efforts to regain lost market share against Chinese EV competitors.
