Tesla Recalls 173 Cybertrucks, 200,000 EVs Over Wheel and Camera Issues
Tesla is recalling 173 model year 2024–2026 Cybertrucks due to cracking rotors that risk wheel stud separation and will replace brake rotors, hubs and lug nuts at no cost. The company is also recalling more than 200,000 Model Y, S, X and 3 vehicles to address rearview camera software failures.
1. Cybertruck Wheel Rotor Recall
Tesla is recalling 173 model year 2024–2026 Cybertrucks after regulators identified rotor stud cracks that could cause wheel stud separation. Under recall SB-26-33-003, the company will replace front and rear brake rotors, hubs and lug nuts with more durable parts free of charge to owners.
2. Rearview Camera Software Recall
Separately, Tesla is recalling over 200,000 Model Y, S, X and 3 vehicles under recall number SB-26-00-016 to fix intermittent rearview camera failures via an over-the-air software update. No crashes or injuries have been reported, and owners will receive the update at no cost.
