Tesla's China-made EV sales quicken in September

TSLA•Sales of Tesla vehicles built in China rose 5% year over year to 95,366 in September, up from 3.6% growth in August. Third-quarter Shanghai-built EV sales increased 13.7% year over year.
Deliveries of Model 3 and Model Y vehicles built at Tesla's Shanghai factory, including exports, increased to 95,366 in September from 90,812 a year earlier, marking 11 consecutive months of annual gains. Tesla is offering final-payment discounts through October of 7,000 yuan on selected Model Y variants and 5,000 yuan on all Model 3 variants in China.
Sales of Shanghai-built EVs rose 13.7% year over year in the third quarter. Tesla's global deliveries fell 2.1% from a year earlier, against an all-time high in the third quarter of 2025, but beat forecasts and kept the company on track to return to full-year growth after two years of declines.
