Tethys Petroleum Production Rebounds to 375 Tons Daily; Gas Contract Extended
Tethys Petroleum’s oil production averaged 323 tons per day in 2026, rebounding to 375 tons after weather delays, while gas output from Kyzyloi and Akkulka fields reached 222,000 m³ daily. Energy Ministry approved Kul Bas gas utilization and extended the Akkulka Gas Contract; central processing facility upgrade is 80% complete.
1. Oil and Gas Production
Tethys Petroleum’s 2026 oil output from wells KBD-02, KBD-06 and KBD-07 averaged 323 tons per day through March and has ramped to 375 tons per day as of March 23 following temporary weather-related shutdowns. Natural gas production from the Kyzyloi and Akkulka fields is currently averaging 222,000 m³ per day across 20 wells.
2. Contract Approvals and Facility Upgrades
On March 12, the Ministry of Energy gave preliminary approval for the Kul Bas gas utilization program and extended the Akkulka Gas Contract, removing the obligation to reinvest incremental profit from oil price increases. Work on expanding oil processing and storage at the central processing facility is approximately 80% complete in the current phase.
3. Upcoming Drilling Plans
Drilling of the ARD#1 (Kronos) well in the Aral 4 block is scheduled to begin in early May with a target depth of about 3,000 meters, while the KBD-5 well is set to commence in early August 2026 with an estimated depth of 2,500 meters.
