Textron Aviation Launches FAA-Certified Gogo 5G Upgrade for Ten Citation Business Jets
Textron Aviation received FAA certification to offer Gogo 5G connectivity upgrades for ten Cessna Citation models with on-site installation or retrofit of AVANCE systems delivering faster speeds and lower latency. Availability will expand to CJ4, CJ3+ and CJ3 jets pending STCs, boosting Textron’s aftermarket service revenue potential.
1. Gogo 5G Connectivity Upgrade
Textron Aviation received FAA Supplemental Type Certification to install Gogo 5G systems on ten Cessna Citation models. The upgrade delivers faster data speeds, reduced latency and supports multiple devices through an AVANCE router.
2. Eligible Citation Models
The upgrade covers Citation Longitude, X+, X, Sovereign+, Sovereign, Latitude, XLS Gen2, XLS+, XLS and Excel jets. Customers can choose new AVANCE Gogo 5G systems or retrofit existing AVANCE hardware.
3. Installation and Service Network
Gogo 5G installations are available at domestic Textron Aviation Service Centers. Textron’s global network includes over 300 authorized facilities, 40 mobile units and on-site technicians to support rapid retrofit and maintenance.
4. Future Expansion
Pending FAA STCs, Textron plans to extend Gogo 5G availability to Citation CJ4, CJ3+ and CJ3 models. This expansion aims to drive aftermarket revenue and enhance Textron’s competitive positioning in business aviation services.
