Textron's upcoming Q4 report is expected to benefit from strong aviation and defense demand, with higher deliveries and a robust program backlog supporting revenue growth. E-Z-GO, Textron's vehicle subsidiary, unveiled its redesigned 2027 Liberty model with Samsung SDI lithium batteries and 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, indicating potential EV segment growth.

1. Q4 Earnings Poised for Upside Driven by Aviation and Defense

Textron is set to report fourth-quarter results with analysts forecasting revenue growth of roughly 6% year-over-year, supported by robust demand across its Bell, Cessna and Textron Systems divisions. Commercial aircraft deliveries climbed 12% in Q3, and management noted a program backlog of $14.3 billion as of December 31, up 18% from a year earlier. On the defense side, new contract awards totaling $1.2 billion during the quarter include follow-on orders for rotorcraft and unmanned systems, while operating margins are expected to expand by approximately 50 basis points as fixed-cost leverage kicks in. Investors will watch free cash flow guidance, with the company targeting at least $900 million for FY2026, up from $780 million last year.

2. E-Z-GO Liberty Launch to Boost Specialized Vehicles Segment

Textron’s Specialized Vehicles unit this week unveiled the all-new 2027 E-Z-GO Liberty personal transport vehicle, featuring Samsung SDI lithium battery technology with an eight-year warranty and up to 35% faster recharge times versus lead-acid alternatives. The Liberty’s premium infotainment package and street-legal low-speed vehicle certification position it to capture both recreational and campus-transport markets. Textron estimates unit sales in the segment could rise by 15% in FY2027, contributing incremental revenue of approximately $75 million. With Specialized Vehicles operating margins already at 11.2% in Q3, further efficiency gains from the new model rollout are expected to support consolidated margins in the coming quarters.
