The United States generated more ethanol, fewer biodiesel blending credits in July, EPA says
XLE•Biodiesel output eases from June record
Biodiesel and renewable diesel production dropped from the record amount in June, but was still among the strongest months in the past three years, Paul Winters, director of public affairs at the Clean Fuels Alliance America, said.
The decline in D4 credit generation was largely driven by lower imports, Winters said.
D4 prices got a boost as market participants viewed the D4 figures as below the pace needed to avoid a shortage at the end of the year, said Jessica Dell, editorial manager, environmental markets at Argus Media.
The following is a table of the credit generation for July by credit type.
| Fuel (D) code | RINs | Volume (Gal.) |
|---|---|---|
| D3 | 14,159,419 | 14,159,419 |
| D4 | 795,504,411 | 486,609,600 |
| D5 | 22,910,907 | 15,672,806 |
