Theriva Biologics doses first patient in VIRAGE2 Phase 2a trial of VCN-01 for metastatic pancreatic cancer

Theriva Biologics began dosing in VIRAGE2, a Phase 2a trial testing more frequent repeat dosing of VCN-01 with standard chemotherapy in first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer.

The study aims to refine the dosing regimen for a potential future pivotal Phase 3 program, following earlier Phase 2b VIRAGE results already reported.

VIRAGE2 will not present efficacy results now; initial safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic readouts are expected in Q3 2027.

The program builds on prior data suggesting repeat dosing could improve outcomes versus chemotherapy alone, without detailing performance metrics.

Enrollment is expected to finish in H2 2026, setting a key timing marker for the company’s pancreatic cancer strategy.
