TOMI Environmental Solutions gained EU BPR approval for Binary Ionization Technology as a PT2 disinfectant in Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Hungary. Mutual recognition under the regulation could extend availability to eight more EU states, boosting TOMI’s revenue potential in healthcare, commercial and institutional markets.

1. EU Approval for BIT Disinfectant

TOMI’s Binary Ionization Technology (BIT) received formal authorization under the EU’s Biocidal Products Regulation as a PT2 disinfectant for SteraMist room fogging and surface spraying equipment in Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Hungary, adding to existing approvals in the Netherlands, Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

2. Streamlined Mutual Recognition

Under BPR provisions, approval in one member state enables a mutual recognition pathway in others, allowing BIT to enter Austria, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain without full reauthorization processes.

3. European Market Impact

These regulatory milestones permit BIT deployment across professional indoor settings in medical, healthcare, industrial, commercial, hospitality and institutional sectors, positioning TOMI for accelerated European sales growth and enhanced competitive differentiation.
