TNX-4800 presentation outlines Lyme disease prevention program
Tonix published a research presentation outlining TNX-4800, a long-acting bactericidal human monoclonal antibody being developed to prevent Lyme disease.
The program targets OspA on Borrelia burgdorferi, cited as the cause of 99.9% of U.S. Lyme disease cases.
A Phase 1 study (NCT04863287) has been completed, reporting no significant clinical or laboratory safety signals in healthy adults.
The development plan calls for 2 subcutaneous doses, 450 mg each, with a booster at about 12 weeks; protection is expected within 2 days for at least 6 months.
The company is planning an adaptive Phase 2 field study, pending FDA agreement, and GMP manufacturing work is underway for 1H 2027.
