July 24 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index edged higher on Friday, lifted by gains in technology and consumer discretionary shares, while investors assessed fresh U.S. earnings and monitored developments in the Middle East.
The S&P/TSX Composite index .GSPTSE was up 0.3% at 9:31 a.m. ET.
