TotalEnergies’ 40% GranMorgu Offshore Project Advances with Saipem Vessel Mooring
TTE•TotalEnergies, holding a 40% interest, has started offshore operations for the GranMorgu project in Block 58, Suriname, with the Normand Navigator vessel moored at Jules Sedney Harbour 150km offshore. First oil is scheduled for 2028 following Saipem’s delivery of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines using S-Lay and J-Lay vessels.
1. Offshore operations commence
Saipem’s Normand Navigator construction vessel arrived and moored at Jules Sedney Harbour in Paramaribo, marking the start of offshore operations for the GranMorgu project in Block 58, located approximately 150km off Suriname’s coast.
2. Stakeholders and share
TotalEnergies holds a 40% interest in GranMorgu, with APA also at 40% and Staatsolie at 20%, reflecting a balanced partnership on Suriname’s first large-scale offshore development.
3. Installation scope and logistics
Saipem is responsible for engineering, procurement, supply, construction and installation of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines using S-Lay and J-Lay vessels, supported by a 30,000–40,000m² logistics hub at Jules Sedney Harbour and the DORDT marine support base for heavy subsea structures.
4. Production timeline
Production is slated to start in 2028, following pre-commissioning and commissioning activities managed by Saipem at water depths ranging from 100m to 1,100m, positioning GranMorgu as a future contributor to TotalEnergies’ upstream portfolio.
