TotalEnergies fast-tracks Block 17 Acacia-5 oil discovery in Angola, targets first oil in 3 months

The group agreed to take a 40% operated stake in Angola’s exploration blocks 17/25 and 32/21 near its existing Lower Congo Basin hubs.
The moves follow a separate 2026 discovery on Block 0, where TotalEnergies holds a 10% interest.
Acacia-5 discovery to be tied back quickly
TotalEnergies unveiled the Acacia-5 oil discovery on Angola’s Block 17, targeting first oil within three months via spare capacity on the Pazflor FPSO.
The fast-track tie-back is expected to lift Block 17 output by 6,000 barrels per day.
