TotalEnergies takes FID on Absheron full-field development, lifting output to 6 BCMA by 2029
TTE•TotalEnergies and partners SOCAR and XRG took a final investment decision on the Absheron gas-condensate field’s full-field development, targeting annual output of 6 billion cubic meters of gas and 47,000 barrels per day of condensate from 2029.
1. Development targets
The project targets start-up in 2029 and output of 6 billion cubic meters of gas annually and 47,000 barrels per day of condensate. The field holds about 140 billion cubic meters of recoverable gas reserves; its first phase began production in 2023.
2. Ownership and markets
TotalEnergies operates the project and holds a 35% stake, equal to SOCAR’s share; XRG holds 30%. Volumes are slated for Azerbaijan’s domestic market and exports to Turkey through existing infrastructure linked to the European gas market.
