TotalEnergies and Tikehau Capital launched a joint platform to expand urban public EV charging in Belgium and the Netherlands using certified renewable energy. TotalEnergies currently operates 9,500 charge points in Belgium and 18,000 in the Netherlands and will leverage Tikehau’s funding to secure new municipal tenders.

1. TotalEnergies and Tikehau Launch Benelux EV Charging Platform

TotalEnergies has formed a 50/50 joint investment platform with Tikehau Capital to expand urban public electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Belgium and the Netherlands. Under the agreement, TotalEnergies will leverage its technical expertise to develop, operate and maintain charging stations powered exclusively by certified renewable energy, while Tikehau will provide capital and risk-sharing support. The platform will take over projects already under construction or operation in key cities and will bid for new municipal tenders, aiming to strengthen TotalEnergies’ leadership in the region where it currently operates over 9,500 charging points in Belgium and 18,000 in the Netherlands.

2. Strategic Upstream Collaboration with Kuwait Oil Company

TotalEnergies signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kuwait Oil Company to conduct joint technical studies for new exploration opportunities in onshore and offshore Kuwait. The agreement covers data sharing, seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization, with each party contributing specialized teams. Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, emphasized that the collaboration aligns with Kuwait’s goals to optimize resource development and deepens a long-term relationship that could lead to future equity partnerships in exploration blocks.

3. Advancing Global LNG and Exploration Projects

In parallel with its Kuwait alliance, TotalEnergies recently assumed operatorship of Petroleum Exploration License 83 in Namibia’s Orange Basin, partnering with local and international firms to accelerate pre-drill studies. The company has also completed procurement of nearly all main equipment for the Mozambique LNG project, which is now 40% complete. Following the lifting of Force Majeure restrictions, engineering work has resumed at full pace, with the first liquefied natural gas cargoes still on track for 2029 delivery.
