Toyota will invest $1B in Kentucky and Indiana to expand US capacity under a $10B boost following a $13.9B North Carolina battery plant, with Highlander BEV built domestically. Producing 85% of US sales in North America (55% in the US) offsets tariffs and higher financing and fuel costs, while offering six models under $35,000.

1. $10B US Investment Plan

Toyota has committed an additional $10B to US manufacturing, supplementing its $13.9B North Carolina battery plant investment. Of this, $1B will fund capacity expansions in Kentucky and Indiana to support growing demand and future EV production.

2. Highlander BEV Domestic Assembly

As part of the expansion, Toyota will produce its Highlander BEV at US facilities, reinforcing its strategy to build where it sells and strengthening its domestic EV manufacturing footprint.

3. Tariff Mitigation and Affordability Strategy

With 85% of US sales produced in North America (55% stateside), Toyota aims to cushion tariff impacts and rising financing and fuel costs. The company will maintain consumer appeal by offering six vehicle models priced under $35,000.
