Toyota will invest $1 billion in U.S. plants, allocating $800 million to Kentucky and $200 million to Indiana for a second battery electric vehicle and increased Camry, RAV4 and Grand Highlander output. This funding is part of a $10 billion U.S. five-year program and includes $4.4 million in STEM grants.

1. Investment Allocation

Toyota is allocating $800 million to its Georgetown, Kentucky plant and $200 million to its Princeton, Indiana facility as part of a $1 billion U.S. manufacturing investment. This outlay contributes to the automaker’s broader $10 billion commitment over five years to expand North American production capacity.

2. Production Enhancements

In Kentucky, funds will ready the plant for a second battery electric vehicle and bolster production of Camry sedans and RAV4 crossovers, while Indiana’s allocation will expand capacity for the Grand Highlander SUV. These upgrades are designed to meet rising demand for electrified vehicles and SUVs in key U.S. markets.

3. Community and Workforce Impact

The Kentucky and Indiana plants are celebrating their 40th and 30th anniversaries respectively, employing a combined 17,300 workers. Toyota is also dedicating $4.4 million to STEM education grants and a manufacturing engineering program at a regional university to support local talent development.
