Toyota Motor March Sales Fall 7.3%; Toyota Industries Profit Slides 14.7%

Toyota Motor’s March global sales dropped 7.3% year-on-year to 897,871 vehicles, with overseas volumes down 7.2% and group deliveries including Daihatsu and Hino at 983,126 units despite a 3.9% production rise to 1.02 million. Toyota Industries’ FY2026 profit fell 14.7% to ¥223.8 billion on a 38.2% operating-profit drop.

1. Toyota Motor March Sales Performance

Toyota Motor’s global vehicle sales for March 2026 fell 7.3% to 897,871 units, driven by the RAV4 model changeover and a 32.3% demand slump in the Middle East. Overseas sales declined 7.2% to 755,646 units, Japanese deliveries fell 7.8% to 142,225, and group volumes including Daihatsu and Hino dipped 5.8% to 983,126, even as production rose 3.9% to 1.02 million. North America sales were down 7.9% to 247,109 units, Europe fell 5.6% to 113,875, China slid 8.0%, while India surged 26.6% to 36,458 and Africa rose 1.7%.

2. Toyota Industries Fiscal 2026 Results

Toyota Industries reported profit attributable to owners of ¥223.8 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026, a 14.7% decline, with EPS of ¥744.75 versus ¥856.96 a year earlier. Operating profit fell 38.2% to ¥137.0 billion on net sales of ¥4.37 trillion, up 7.0% year-on-year, and the company did not disclose a consolidated forecast for the year ending March 31, 2027.
