Tradeweb: Global 10-year government bond yields jump in July as sell-off hits Europe

Tradeweb analysis flagged a July sell-off in global government bonds, with 10-year benchmark yields rising by double digits.
- Greece posted the largest move, with its 10-year yield up 40 basis points to 3.89%.
- Europe drove much of the repricing, with Italy up 36 basis points to 4% and France up 32 basis points to 3.98%.
- Tradeweb cited higher oil prices, rising inflation expectations, shifting rate-hike bets, geopolitical risk, and heavier sovereign supply.
- U.S. 10-year Treasury yields rose nearly 27 basis points to 4.71% despite cooling inflation readings that stayed above 2%.
