TransAlta Q3 net earnings swing to CAD 79 million profit

Revenue fell 13% to CAD 536 million and operating cash flow dropped 47% to CAD 132 million; the company also completed a USD 1 billion acquisition and sold a 49% interest in its Oklahoma wind portfolio for USD 305 million.

TransAlta swung to third-quarter net earnings of CAD 79 million from a loss of CAD 54 million a year earlier. Revenue fell 13% year over year to CAD 536 million, while cash flow from operating activities declined 47% to CAD 132 million.
2. Portfolio transactions
On Oct. 22, 2026, TransAlta completed the Colorado Acquisition for USD 1 billion, including USD 750 million of project debt. The same day, it sold a 49% minority interest in its Oklahoma wind portfolio for USD 305 million before closing adjustments.
