Tripadvisor data show craft class bookings jump 88% in H1 2026

TripAdvisor analysis of H1 2026 bookings showed a shift from passive sightseeing toward immersive, experience-led travel.

• Craft class bookings rose 88% year over year; U.S. bookings for Japanese craft classes climbed more than 300%.
• Concerts and special events advanced 87%; eco tours gained 62% amid rising demand for nature-based activities.
• Day spa experiences increased 45%, led by geothermal and thermal offerings; New Zealand day spa bookings more than doubled.
• Experiences outside the top 100 destinations grew more than twice as fast as the top 100; Guatemala bookings rose 74%.
