Trump administration postpones meeting of panel that includes Meta's Zuckerberg, Nvidia's Huang
NVDA•The Trump administration postponed a Friday meeting of a White House technology panel that includes Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The meeting was scheduled as technology shares fell on concerns about AI development and spending returns.
1. Panel meeting postponed
The administration postponed Friday's meeting of the President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology, an outside panel that advises the White House on U.S. science and technology policy, an Energy Department spokesperson said. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on why.
2. AI concerns weigh
Technology shares sold off sharply on Thursday amid growing concerns that a new Congress will slow AI development and that the massive capital expense of building out AI will not yield sufficient returns. The panel also includes AMD's Lisa Su and Andreessen Horowitz co-founder Marc Andreessen.
