Donald Trump announced that Audi plans to build a $4 billion assembly plant in Georgia, producing 200,000 SUVs annually. Audi said the investment will create about 4,500 jobs, with construction scheduled to begin next year and production starting in the early 2030s.
1. Plant plans and timeline
Audi plans to build its first US assembly plant near Macon, Georgia, with capacity to produce 200,000 SUVs annually. CEO Gernot Doellner said the company plans to produce its biggest and most premium SUVs there. Audi said construction is scheduled to begin next year, production is expected to start in the early 2030s, and the investment will create approximately 4,500 jobs.
2. Tariffs and model details
A US official told Reuters that the plant is expected to assemble the Audi Q7, Q8 and Q9.
